Customer Review: Fabulous!
The Benetif High Brow is a superb product. It works beautifully to highlight eyelids and makes such a huge difference in the way the eyes look. What a find!
Customer Review: The best
I've been looking for a good chunky pencil or a nice shade of shadow to accent my brow line. I came across High Brow, read reviews on it and settled on buying it. I went to the Benefit counter, and they were out of High Brow! Of Course! And the saleslady convinced me to buy Mr. Frosty instead - - "It does the same thing" - Ha! Not at all! Mr. Frosty comes off in about 20 minutes and doesn't give the clean, fresh look that High Brow gives me. I love this product, and like another reviewer said, if you're even thinking about getting this product, BUY IT now!

The party's over and the morning after Christmas brings along the dread of watching your haggard face in the mirror. Hectic partying does that for you -- let's face it. And so we might as well start looking for ways to beat the post party face catastrophe.

WATER YOUR BODY

Your body needs it as much as your plants do! Late nights and alcohol can bring about serious depletion of moisture from your face. Drink as much water as possible throughout the evening. If it is not possible to drink much water during the party, be sure to drink a glass when you come home, before going to bed.

Next morning, over a couple of hours, try to drink a whole bottle (at least 750 ml) of fluids like water, herbal tea (jasmine or chamomile also helps hangovers), lemonade, fresh fruit juices etc. For the rest of the day, keep spritzing your face at regular intervals. You could also go in for a light, fruit-water based moisturizer.

SENSITIVE SKIN

A healthy, glowing skin, if heaped with lots of various makeup ingredients, takes no time to turn into an irritable, sensitive skin. Try to use mild and protective products and don't punish your face by applying a little bit of everything you can find in your makeup box.

Find ways to maximize your look with minimal cosmetics. Always cleanse, tone and moisturize before you apply your makeup. It keeps makeup from looking chalky and also acts as a protective layer.

C-L-E-A-N-S-E

Remove all traces of makeup from your face as soon as possible. Cleanse well before going to sleep that night and cleanse again in the morning.

Besides water, use good quality makeup removers and make it a must to use a good eye makeup remover for the eyes.

Over cleansing can strip protective oils from your skin and make your skin more sensitive. But since its absolutely essential that you remove your makeup when you return, use a gentle cleanser. A cream-based cleanser is the gentlest.

Don't forget to tome and moisturize after you have removed your makeup. Massage your skin with an enriching moisturizer for about 5 minutes to stimulate circulation and glow naturally.

EYE CARE

If you are beginning to get dark circles due to lack of sleep and poor circulation, use an eye cream.

A great remedy from the kitchen is to place potato or zucchini slices on your eyelids for about 5 minutes and apply slight pressure. This helps to drain out excess fluid and soothes your eyes.

PUFFY FACE

The best way to deal with a puffy and zitty face is to cool it down. The 'tried and tested' used tea bags and cucumber slices work well. Another remedy is using ice cubes of rosewater. Chill a tray before leaving for parties and rub it all over your face in the morning.

You can also grate a cucumber, soak a cotton ball in it and wipe your whole face with it. Fifteen minutes in a steam room or a cold shower also works wonders for a puffy face.

So now there's nothing to stop you from enjoying your Christmas and New Year Parties and Bashes. Just get equipped to beat the post-party face catastrophe and party hard!

With airlines charging a surcharge for each overweight piece of baggage, it might be time to rethink the luggage you're packing. Many of the popular brands have introduced lighter weight luggage and smaller sizes in keeping with these new regulations. Be sure to check with the airline you're using to be sure you are within their restrictions. Even if you have flown with the same airline recently, you may want to verify the regulations. The old sizes of 30" Pullman, 31" Pullman and the 32" Pullman will definitely be over the usual fifty pound limit imposed. Many of the airlines are also restricting the size of the cases you can take. They want nothing larger than 62" linear inches which is the height, plus the width plus the depth. And do we really want the burden of carrying around the old, overweight cases?

A new very popular travel accessory is the portable scale. This also has a handy tape measure, to make sure you haven't overstuffed your bag over the size limit. You can easily check the weight of your baggage, especially if you've bought a lot of souvenirs. My favorite scale has a locking feature so it isn't necessary to lift your packed case all of the way up to your eyes. You lift the case slightly, the scale locks in the amount, and you can comfortably check the pounds.

Before purchasing new luggage, be sure to lift the cases you're interested in. Do not accept the "lightweight" term without checking for yourself. Many cases say "lightweight" but are not as light as others in their class. If the case has a garment bag that you do not use, it's a good idea to remove it. Most of the will zip off, saving you a few pounds. You may also be able to use your current pieces, just downsize by packing smaller pieces. Remember, too, that clothing doesn't weigh all that much. Your bag increases in weight when you pack a lot of shoes, or cosmetics and toiletries.

We used to take all of our toiletries onto the airplane with us. Now, we are restricted to carrying on only a three-one-one case. This is a clear plastic, one quart size bag with containers or bottles and jars of three ounces or less. And this is meant for one per person only! All of the other toiletries need to be packed in your baggage. The best way is to buy the smallest sample sizes of the products you wish to bring along. You can also purchase smaller bottles and pour your cosmetics into these. Be sure to wrap securely, to prevent spillage. I generally plastic wrap each bottle before placing everything in a plastic lined packing cube.

Shoes will also increase the weight of your bag. Try to pack less! There's a new product on the market that lets women take one pair of shoes, with different interchangeable tops. This is a great idea. You can also try to stick one or two color schemes to cut down on the shoes you'll want to bring. Reversible jackets are another great idea for travel. These are extremely lightweight, comfortable, and virtually wrinkle free.

Heavier items can always be sent ahead to your destination. Be sure to check with your hotel, as many of them do have a surcharge for storing items shipped ahead. We never do seem to use everything we pack, so it's important now to be very organized. Plan exactly what you'll need, and don't bring a lot of extra clothing, or travel accessories. You are best off using the "mix and match" approach when packing. Additionally, now that we don't carry on our cosmetics, you may want to carry on your shoes instead. Also, if you bring a hair dryer or small iron, you may want to put those in your carry on luggage. These are items that weigh a little more than clothes, so by carrying them your case will be somewhat lighter.

Although it's not always comfortable, you may want to wear that heavy coat on the airplane. You can take it off and fold it under your seat. It certainly will make your luggage lighter if you don't have to pack heavier items. The same goes for boots or heavy sneakers. If you must have these items along on your trip, wear them on the plane. Think about layers, rather than a lot of bulky heavier items. We have to use a different mindset now when packing. If you want to avoid the surcharges on planes, you just need to lighten your load!

The chemical preservative Thimerosal (which contains thiosalicylate and ethylmercury) is a light colored crystalline powder found in childhood vaccines, make up and personal care products. Other products that contain it are antitoxins, ophthalmic and otolaryngolic medications, topical and intramuscular steroid preparations and intradermal tests.

If Thimerosal is used in adults and children with autism it can produce undesired side effects. Such patients, as well as their families, need to consider alternative immunization methods and this is encouraged by physicians (also recommended that siblings of people with autism should take similar precautions). Needless to say, anybody who suffers from autism needs to avoid thimerosal and thiscan be found in make up, personal care products and medications like throat sprays and eye drops.

Common products in which this preservative is present (but not limited to) are:
Contact lens solutions, eye ointments, eye drops, antitoxins, antibiotic ointments, nose drops, soap free cleansers, cosmetics, eye moisturizers, make up removers, desensitization solutions and tuberculin testing.

The North American Contact Dermatitis Group states that, in the United States, a Thimerosal allergy is rated as the 5th most common allergen affecting people. Removing Thimerosal from everyday life is practically not possible but daily exposure can be reduced by using products without it.

In many cases a Thimerosal allergy occurs only on the skin and people with allergic reactions to it might develop a rash where an injection was performed. They can also develop extreme conjunctivitis if the preservative is used in contact lens solutions that they use.

People who seem to face higher risks to a thimerosal allergy are cooks, women and healthcare workers - increased thimerosal allergy reactions amongst such groups could be as a result of increased exposure. The preservative is present in many products and immunizations that they are required to use.

Other names that Thimerosal is known as are: Mercuochrome, Merthiolate, Merzonin, Sodium ethylmercurithiosalicylate, Mertorgan, Merfamin, Thiomersalan, Thiomersal, and Thiomersalate - it is by no means a comprehensive list of chemical names used for Thimerosal.

There may be no obvious side effects or allergic reactions to this preservative in people not allergic to it, but the question beckons - how does, or will exposure to this preservative, in their personal care products, immunizations and antibiotics eventually affect their bodies?

Finding Safe Cosmetics Online Makes Shopping Easy

As consumers, we are becoming ever more conscious of the substances we put in or on our bodies. For women, safe cosmetics are now high on the list. Many learn the hard way when attempting to cheaply buy cosmetics online. A splotchy reaction is hardly worth the few dollars saved when there are safe cosmetics like mineral makeup readily found on the market today.

Safe personal care products like mineral makeup often have multifaceted applications. Not only will they enhance beauty put they also are cosmetic products which will protect and restore your skin. The anti aging properties of many organic substances are well known.

Safe cosmetics are characterized more by what they lack as opposed to what they have. Cosmetic products which contain dyes, talc, or aluminum starch octenylsuccinate have been shown to trigger adverse effects in an appreciable number of us. This is especially so for those prone to allergic reactions. Safe cosmetics do not contain chemical additives such as these.

Mineral makeup contains loose minerals often containing iron oxide. This inclusion translates to a salicylate free composition which not only provides great lasting power but also protects at a 25 sun protection factor (SPF). Safe personal care products help protect you as well as serve their intended cosmetic purpose. A deodorant can be just as effective without containing alcohol and aluminum chlorhydrate. Minerals can be a great base for both makeup and deodorant. Major brand manufacturers unfortunately have not taken this cue.

Safe cosmetics include some you might not ordinarily associate with health concerns. Many women are unaware that their nail polish can contain ingredients like formaldehyde, camphore and toluene. Without boring you with a lengthy chemistry lesson, suffice to say you do not want these chemicals perpetually within close proximity to your skin. This obviously also includes loved ones who may be on your lap as you do your nails.

For some who don't live near a major city it can be hard to locate safe cosmetics at a traditional storefront location. Thankfully, the power of the Internet today allows one to buy cosmetics online from the comfort of home without sacrificing selection. There is a panoply of choice online between many products originated by respected organic brands.

As there are things to avoid, there are conversely things to look for as signifiers of a safe and organic product. Some of these include mica, ultramarine blue, and kaolin clay. Holistic ingredients such as these are hallmarks of a quality product.

Many women feel an obligation not only to their skin but to the environment as well. The harsh ingredients found in many cosmetic and other personal care products end up in streams and wetlands after our use. The reasons to seek healthful cosmetics are varied and compelling. The Internet removes any excuse as to accessibility. Look and feel your best with only the finest nature has to offer.
